Home page view

Today GetUp! had an update which includes a slight change in the home page. A new image was added for the Gunns paper mill issue. The visual layout of the home page remains fine as they don't try and squeeze to much onto the screen, when something new is put up, some other issue is put into the campaigns page, keeping a reasonable state of order apparent.

  1. Hey John, I was checking out GetUp! One thing that I noticed, that bothered me, is that information about what the site is all about is buried down the bottom of the homepage, in light grey text. Depending on the resolution of the user's monitor, you may have to scroll down a fair distance to (possibly) figure out what the site is about. I know this isn't necessarily a web 2.0 issue, but surely if a user is to have some element of 'control', knowledge is important.

Seeing 'Join more than 326274 members online, get updates and contribute to Australia' in the shiny box on the top right is really cryptic, surely a 'GetUp! is about...' would be more useful in retaining interested first time users.
